What a property cleanup covers

A cleanup is not a mow. It is the reset that happens before regular maintenance is worth paying for. We pull the beds back to a clean line, take out what died over the winter or came down in a storm, cut back the overgrowth, and load every bit of it into the truck.

• Spring cleanups. Winter dieback cut back, beds re-edged, pollen and debris blown off the drive, the walks and the porch.
• Fall cleanups. Leaf removal down to the turf, in one visit or in several through the drop.
• Storm debris. Limbs, blown-down branches, fence sections and whatever else the wind left in the yard.
• Overgrown lot reclamation. Briars, privet, saplings and grass that got up over the mower deck.
• Turnovers and pre-sale cleanups on a deadline.
• Haul-off, every time. The pile leaves with us.

Spring cleanups

North Georgia gives you about three weeks in March where everything happens at once. Fescue is coming out of dormancy, Bermuda is still brown, pollen is on every flat surface in Cobb County, and last year's beds are packed flat with matted leaves.

Spring is when we cut the beds back to a real spade edge, pull the dead annuals and the winter-burned growth, cut the ornamental grasses back before they push new blades, and clear the matted layer off the beds so the ground can warm up. It is also the right time to put fresh pine straw or mulch down, and we do that in the same visit if you want it.

Fall cleanups and leaf removal

Leaf drop up here runs from late October into December, and the oaks hold on the longest. One cleanup in early November leaves you with another yard full by Thanksgiving. Two or three passes through the drop cost more per visit and less overall, because we are never fighting a foot of wet matted leaf at the end.

Leaves left on fescue over the winter smother it. They pack down, hold moisture against the crown, and you find the bare patches in April. We clear down to the turf, get the beds and the fence lines, pull the leaves out of the gutters if you ask, and haul all of it off.

Storm debris

Summer thunderstorms and the occasional ice event put pine limbs and hardwood on the ground all over Cobb and Cherokee. We clear limbs, cut and stack what needs stacking, pull debris out of fence lines and off the roof where we can reach it safely, and take it away.

We will also tell you straight when a job is bigger than a cleanup. A trunk on the house, a limb hung up in another tree, or anything close to a power line is a crane and a certified tree crew, not us. We would rather point you at the right outfit than make a mess of it.

Overgrown lots

Vacant lots, inherited property, rentals that sat empty, back acreage nobody has touched in five years. Privet, briars, wild cherry saplings and grass over the deck height. We cut it down, clear it out and give you back a property you can walk.

If the county sent a letter with a deadline on it, say so when you call. That moves you up the schedule.

What it costs

There is no menu price on a cleanup, because a quarter acre with two oaks is not the same job as a quarter acre with eleven. We come look, we count the loads and the labor, and you get the number before anything starts. The estimate is free.
